OMG! Working in a school with children is so interesting and frustrating at the same time. I work with kindergarten and 2nd grade each week and the way some of them speak is atrocious. “I don’t got no milk”. How do you even begin to work with that?
Heartwarming food
The weather has turned and it’s time to cook a yummy heartwarming stew. There’s nothing better than the house smelling like slow cooked food. Tonight we’ll be having our favourite irish beef stew. Old family recipe but I’m willing to share.
Manners, free to give away ….. barely used.
Where have our manners gone? Are they not being taught anymore? People are so rude, so ignorant and quick to push in front. What’s the deal? Have we become so busy and so stressed that we don’t have the time to say please and thank you? It’s quite disgusting. I stand in take-out stores here in Harlem all the time …

It’s been a hectic year, school has had the better part of me since September. I became the PTA treasurer, yeah I know , what was I thinking? Well clearly I wasn’t. It’s a bigger job than you think. Yesterday saw the culmination of 6 months of work. Our biggest fund raiser of the year, the Spring Carnival. This year …

This was a little easier than previous road trips because Santa brought a dvd player 🙂 We hit the road 2 days …
The Empty Box
The King went to Spain the other week. Great trip, excellent business, much Tapas and wine was consumed. Upon his return he brought with him some interesting Spanish concepts and phrases.

This morning I made the most devine omelette. I used: 1 scallion 1 mushroom Some finely chopped red pepper Half a sweet Italian sausage with the skin removed Half an avocado 4 cherry tomatoes 2 eggs
Paleo dinner
Last friday night I made the yummiest dinner. Roasted root vegetables (parsnips, sweet potatoes and carrots) cut into sticks tossed in olive oil and fresh herbs. Sauteed peppers and onions, stirfried brussel sprouts with onion, craisins and walnuts, drizzled with balsamic vinegar and honey.
House Guests
Living in a different country affords you the dubious privilege of all manner of house guests. Anyone and everyone you’ve ever known wants to come to stay with you and visit the new country. Of course there are certain people who are welcome anytime, any place, best friends and family.
