School’s Almost Out

It’s been a hectic year, school has had the better part of me since September. I became the PTA treasurer, yeah I know , what was I thinking? Well clearly I wasn’t. It’s a bigger job than you think. Yesterday saw the culmination of 6 months of work. Our biggest fund raiser of the year, the Spring Carnival. This year it was a circus theme. All last week we had terrible weather reports. We thought on thursday we might have to cancel it all. Some of us were secretly hoping this would happen… Don’t judge us , it’s been tough :). Being in the school for 13 hours a day is a little intense.

However the weather God’s prevailed and we had an extremely successful carnival, making lots of money for the school and everyone seemed to have a great time. Oh there’s always someone complaining and there’s always someone saying you should have done this or that. Ultimately though, we rocked and all of us are very glad it’s over! Come Monday I will be back to mummy and that’s it. There will be clean laundry every day, there will be food in the house and prepared meals at the right times.I could even make cupcakes 🙂 …My family have been very supportive and understanding at my absence but the comment was made this morning by the King, “So you don’t think you could cope working full time?” I answered with a very firm “NO WAY!”  I have great admiration for the career/working mum but I am forever grateful and thankful that I am able to be a stay at home mum and that I can commit time to help at my children’s school.

Today however I hurt all over and I need to just relax. Cocktails and bubble baths for me…………… once I go grocery shopping, do the laundry for the uniforms and go to the 2 o’clock kids party! Yep I’m relaxing today. Can’t you tell?
