It been pretty hot lately and the children have been spending plenty of time under water and so haven’t really be worrying too much about actual bathing, you know like with soap and forget about putting deodorant on. Not to mention it’s been Miss Gremlin’s only relief during her week of stomach pain. So I haven’t really been paying attention.
I’ve been sitting here for 4 hours now, procrastinating and fucking around on facebook. Sure I pumped out a piece for Families in the Loop but really I just finished it off, it was mostly written already. Mostly I’m fucking around on facebook  and twitter.
So now the Princess is back, we are into the swing of adult children visits. As some of you know adult children are different to small children. They are still a wealth of entertainment and strangeness, just in a different way.
The other day on my morning walk with Sir Lickalot, as I was walking past the abandoned brownstone in our street, I came across a pile of dolls thrown out on the footpath with the trash.
Yesterday we went to Coney Island. Haven’t been there in a few years. Certainly not since Hurricane Sandy had the place 10 ft under water. It was fun and so easy. I love that you can get on a train from Manhattan and boom you’re at the beach for $2.25 a head. The subway is cool like that. Ok so …

Walking to the supermarket this evening, for the third time today, I passed the homeless girl on crutches with one leg…She’s always on our corner, I guess it’s a lucrative spot. ‘Can you help me?’ She says, waving her cardboard cup almost in my face.
Seriously, this school year will NOT DIE… Yesterday was a half day. Brilliant idea. Make the kids get up on a Monday morning to go to school until 11:30. These guys are smokin’ crack! I may need some soon but this is how we’re limping to the finish line….

The serenity is broken by fireworks buzzing past our heads from the street below… They usually start in May, getting ready for July 4th and then they continue to be set off all through July and well into August. Some nights it sounds like a carnival other nights, Beirut because of the gun fire and motorcross bikes.
