Taekwondo Article Update

Technology is a wonderful thing, except when you can’t get hold of it.I wasn’t able to get near a scanner until I got back home. Now that I am, here is the article that goes with the photo that was in the newspaper.
Article:

Albury based South East Australia Tae Kwon Do Club has been enjoying an international flavour recently with the arrival of two US based competitors.

Deklan Mills, 11, and his sister Hannah, 8, live and train in Harlem, New York but arrived on the Border to visit family.
The pair have been training with the Albury club and according to head instructor, Tony Hedrick, have been adding flair and variety to training.
“It has been good having them here” Hedrick said. “It’s always good to see some different styles of tae kwon do.”
South East Australia Tae Kwon Do Club–the only club in Albury-Wodonga –has been around for 17 years and the sport itself has been on the Border for 30 years.
The nearest club to Albury is Corowa.
Each year around March and April the Border club hosts an open competiton which draws close to 50 competitors.
Hedrick said tae kwon do was a great sport for fitness and socialising.”It’s good for your fitness, co-ordination and balance and it’s social,” he said
“We train four times a week and have a kids-only class on Saturday mornings.”
The Border club has about 50 members but Hedrick said it was always looking for more.
Anyone interested in joining up and learning the sport can visit the JJ Wright Hall near the Albury Showgrounds between 6pm and 7pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. Or check out the kids class between 9am and 11:30am on Saturday or call Hedrick on 0418 406 053.

While we were away, our club, Harlem Taekwondo had their belt promotion test. Unfortunately we missed it. Miss Gremlin was a little disappointed because she is really dedicated to her sport.
After arriving home, we took a couple of days to adjust to the time difference before we went back to classes. By Thursday, Miss Gremlin was ready.
It was exciting to see everyone and all the new belts.
Master Fall, during the class, gave Miss Gremlin a test to see if she had retained her forms. Of course she had because she loves it so much.
At the end of the class he got out some boards.

And here’s what happened next ……………
