Voodoo In the ‘Hood?

The other day on my morning walk with Sir Lickalot, as I was walking past the abandoned brownstone in our street, I came across a pile of dolls thrown out on the footpath with the trash. They were creepy, all dressed the same. There were heaps of them. I was a little creeped out but just kept walking…..We see some very strange things in the street but I just kept it moving and didn’t really think any more about it.

creepy dolls

This would make you double take right?  Yeah thought so….

So this morning when I went out, I had forgotten all about the creepy dolls. The garbage had been collected so I assumed they were gone. Actually I didn’t assume because I forgot about them… So imagine my surprise to see them all lined up in front of the brownstone with an empty bottle of liquor laid across them.

CREEPY RIGHT?  WHAT THE FUCK!

Just weird. I have no idea why they were there or who put them like that. And they stunk like shit, literally!  It was awful, especially in this hot weather.

voodoo

Does weird shit happen to you too? Or is it just me? Anyone got any clues? Is it voodoo?

  1. Molley, that is deliciously, wickedly, mortifyingly creepy. Can’t wait to hear about what you’ll find next. Also, WISH I was visiting your neck of the woods next week!

  2. In my opinion, the dolls were most likely originally used and intended for Voodoo ceremonies. How or why they ended up at the curb for trash. . . you got me, because from what I understand from my studies, the objects of a voodoo curse aren’t just thrown away after the “spell”.

I’m sure the dolls appearing lined up the next day was just someone’s joke. Maybe.

      1. Aerosol can and a lighter – you definitely shouldn’t go *near* them.

The illegal thing I can’t help you with, ‘cept to say you could call your neighbourhood warden (or whoever) and tell them you’re doing them a favour 😉

  3. Totally weird – but you live in NYC so anything goes. That shit doesn’t happen in the sticks where I live – people just kill animals here and string them up in their front lawns to drain the blood out of them. I’ll take the voodoo freak dolls.

  4. You got close enough to SMELL them? Oh you’re just asking for it. I think they’re so creepy they’re cool, but not if they smell like feces.
If they continue to follow you, you might have to bury them in the dirt of their motherland. Or wait, is that vampires? I forget. That’s why Google is my best friend. Good luck!
Whatever you do, don’t watch the movie “Devil Dolls” not for awhile anyway.
