Mani-pedis Are a Waste of Time and Money on Me

I love being pampered, who doesn’t but I very rarely go out and pamper myself. It’s a waste of time and money. No matter where I go or how much I pay it never lasts…..not ever!

Unfortunately I’m not wealthy enough to do nothing all day and the constant use of my hands ruins any work done within hours.

Why is it that toes can hold onto nail polish for months on end but no matter what you do fingernails chip within hours? It’s so frustrating and why I never pay for it anymore. At least if I do it myself I can touch it up each day until I just give up and take it all off.

On Sunday afternoon I spent an hour doing the King’s feet and hands. He’s discovered that he likes nice nails… and you know I want a husband with clean fingernails…. for many reasons, I’m sure you get what I’m saying. It’s fun actually, we sit outside in the sunshine together, the kids doing their thing and me pampering my man….. now don’t get scared I’m not spoiling him and I’m no 1950’s wife but it really is a nice quiet time spent together. We talk cos he can’t type 😛

Once he was all set and had shiny clean nails, yep I lacquered them with base coat and top coat, I decided mine needed some help, especially as I dyed my hair without gloves again and you know nails and hair LOVE dark coloured dye. Painting my nails serves a purpose this week, it keeps my ‘I dye my hair at home’ secret….. Oh, oops, I guess that secret is out now.

So this is how beautiful they looked last night when I did them

This morning after sleeping…… and nothing else, they looked like this

I didn’t make dinner last night, so no dishes, no clean up, nothing… SO frustrating.

By midday they looked like this…….

Ok so I made school lunches and breakfast.

I haven’t been doing anything heavy duty, no cleaning , just light food prep and writing.

Here’s how they looked by 3pm……….

This is insane. I need to wear gloves

I can’t even go one day without messing up my nails. It’s just nuts.

I did all the right things, base coat,  2 coats colour and then a top coat. I let them fully dry. Less than 24 hours later they are totally ruined.

Useless… not even 24 hours later

I’m so glad I didn’t pay to have it done. The only benefit would have been the pampering. Clearly I’m not the girly type………..

But the toes …………..exactly the same 🙂
