It’s true, I have a love of laundry. Don’t ask cos I can’t explain it but I like to wash. I imagine it’s the clean thing or the ocd folding thing. I don’t know but it’s like stroking the furry wall. But in the process of loving to do laundry I sometimes wash stuff that I shouldn’t. Many things have gone by the wayside but most recently the victim was Miss Gremlin’s iphone…man! Nothing worse than opening the washing machine to this…
My heart sank. My little Princess loves her phone, she calls me ALL the time, she uses it for her alarm she’s so responsible with it. And then this. I did this. I rushed her to get her pants in with the load that had just started. She put them in but I was hurrying her. She didn’t check, I didn’t check…
Because I’ve done this before I know to stick it in a tub of rice. For days.
This time… I could see the condensation in the camera lens.
This time… luckily after 2 days there was no condensation.
So this morning I thought I would see if I was buying a new one or not.
I plugged it in… I held my breath, I waited….
And then, there it was the beautiful, gorgeous illuminated apple symbol right on her screen. But will it go further? Will it boot up or fry at start up. Worried, with my heart in my mouth, I waited some more and then… there it was the lock screen!
I think I actually said YAY! And I woke my princess up by the light of her iphone…
Today is a good day friends. I drowned an iphone and it lived to tell it’s tale 🙂
What have you drowned in the washing machine? I can’t be the only one…

I scooped my own phone up in our sheets a while back and washed it. I think it was ok right up until the point where I rang it to find where I’d left it. It bleated momentarily and passed from this world to the next. No amount of rice was bringing it back from the other side. I took it as a sign never to do laundry again.

Well see that’s what happens when you take your phone to bed when you should be spending quality time with the Lady…
Okay, Molley, my doozey was my USB stick-thingy. I not only washed it but dried it in the dryer too. And, not only once but twice (on two separate occasions) 🙂 I’ve still got it and it still works 🙂

Ha… well they should make everything out of those!
I’m just insanely impressed that you managed to save it! I didn’t know that was even possible!

Beware the hidden iphone!
My daughter accidentally washed her DSI a few months after she got it. We tried the rice trick and it didn’t work.

Oh man!
I cannot believe it survived!!!! YAY! I dropped mine in the toilet recently (for real), and though it’s recovered, is still funky. After pee may be the key thang, though…
