It Gets Better- The Kids are Alright

So I’ve been missing, not like kidnapped, thrown in a van missing, but missing none the less. My Lord Dr King left for Australia last Monday afternoon and since then Grand Master D has continued to be sick and managed to spread his germs which knocked me out too. I have had zero energy and in fact have hardly left the house. Miss Gremlin has finally succumbed to the dreaded lurgy but I seem to be climbing out of the hole. I know, you’d think I could sit in a chair and tap on the computer but in all honesty all I wanted to do was veg out and sleep. The biggest thing was making sure the children had meals. But we got through. And only had take out every other meal… Yesterday Miss Gremlin folded all the laundry that was clean and then did 3 more loads of dirty that was waiting. She’s 10! Bless her little heart.

The two of them, on Saturday, after going to see Selma, came home to raid the cupboards and go to the Princesses to look after her because she too was sick!

It warms my heart to know that I am actually teaching these kids empathy and consideration and the ability to see when people need help.  AND that I’m not here as their slave. It takes a team to run a household and they live here too. That’s a huge thing, to pitch in without being asked. Especially these days when we see stories of teens getting into trouble and sueing their parents for college tuition and being all out brats, I’m very proud to say that whatever it is we’re doing, it seems to be working….
