Another Year Done

Hey Friends, I’ve been a little absent, forgive me but it’s the busyness of the Christmas season and a touch of ‘I need a break’. We got through it relatively unscathed. Everyone had a wonderful Christmas and to say we were all indulged is an understatement. The kids were so excited that they got up at 2am and creeped out to see if Santa had been. Of course they only missed him by an hour cos the little shits wouldn’t go to sleep but I love that they were so excited. I remember being that excited for Christmas morning too. I heard them giggling at 5:30am… I came down and shooed them back to bed but heard them on and off until 7:00 when they finally came up to wake us.

I love Christmas morning, the smell, the excitement. This year we had to wait for The Princess to come over before we could open presents but that gave me time to prepare the ham and cheese on toast for breakfast and coffee…. lots of coffee. They finally arrived and we began the gift opening extravaganza that lasted until 11…and everyone was almost over it. How can you even think to be tired of opening gifts! I guess Santa went a little over the top.

The gifts that won Christmas this year were the dining table, the pirate puppet, the homemade fresh chocolate strawberries, the laptops and go pro cameras! There were many other honorable mentions but those topped the list but all being together on Christmas Day truly won all.

It’s been a busy year but a fruitful one here at A Mother Life and we’re looking forward to the next one which promises to be bigger and better…You know the King has things planned. Sounds scary, right? You have no idea!
