Train Tripping Across the Country

Saturday morning at 3:27 am the jetlag told me up and at em!… not because I was super messed up, I know I could have slept through until 9 but because I was anxious that I wouldn’t wake up in time to get us to Central Station to catch our train south to the farm. We’ve had our fill of Sydney and it was time to get moving to the next adventure.
The kids had a really fun time with my school friends’ children in Manly, skateboarding down death hill in the dark. Luckily I had no idea what was going on or I would have freaked. It was a one way street and they could see the cars coming. We had a really lovely time and the home cooked meal of roast lamb and potatoes, grilled chicken and salad topped of with sticky date pudding for dessert was a very welcome change from restaurant food. That’s the trouble with the road, the lack of homemade food. It’s wonderful to be able to reconnect with friends when we travel.

These chicks, friends for 35 year... what?!

These chicks, friends for 35 year… what?!

The ferry ride back to the Harbour was very quiet, both children drooling on my shoulders. There were tears of exhaustion as we climbed into the cab back to the hotel from circular quay, Sydney we’re elated you turned on your charm, a happy exhaustion.
The train left on time and we have 8 hours to just relax and recuperate.
The farm has no idea what’s coming….
