I tend to be a bit grinchy when it comes to Halloween. I know it’s fun for the kids and I do what I have to for them but having not grown up with the tradition I just find it a little creepy knocking on strange doors begging for candy.
But this year I have stock piled on the candy,
I bought a little man for the front door…..
Shlepped home enough pumpkins for the kids to carve
And even dressed up!
What more do you want?
The Princess is carving pumpkins and taking Grand Master D and Miss Gremlin out trick or treating so I don’t have to. I’ll stay here to fill up the goody bags of the kids who knock on our door… Seems like a great plan to me.

I feel the same way. GirlyK is not interested this year. She wants to buy her own bag of candy to eat herself sick on and watch Harry Potter. We may wear costumes to Chipotle for $4 burritos.

Ha!… GMD made up his costume at breakfast, he’s wearing pj’s a robe and carrying a coffee mug.. He’s going as ‘your neighbour Joe”
Australia doesn’t trick or treat?! That needs to be changed, immediately. Its pouring where we live so this may be a dreary holiday for my kids.

It’s coming in but there is resistance. We don’t want to be ‘Americanised’!
Sound like you’ve outdone yourself for a holiday you don’t like. I love Halloween, but this year, I was kind of off my game. I wasn’t as into it. I think I was just tired and didn’t want another thing to have to do. I did take my son to a little pre-trick-or-treating party but then I stayed home when the real trick-or-treating started.
So feeling ya! My hubby made me feel like a bully for taking the kids out but not having candy here. Needless to say, I’m $20 poorer and there are happier Duck Dynasty minions in my neighborhood.
