Heartwarming food

The weather has turned and it’s time to cook a yummy heartwarming stew. There’s nothing better than the house smelling like slow cooked food.

Tonight we’ll be having our favourite irish beef stew. Old family recipe but I’m willing to share.

2lbs stewing beef
1 sweet potato chopped in inch squares
4 carrots sliced
2 parsnips sliced
2 onions roughly chopped
1 can tomatoes (840ml)
basil
1 can baked beans
1 red or green pepper
garlic
2 cans champignons
jalepeno or chilli to taste
1/4 cup tomato ketchup
tbsp HP sauce
tbsp Worcestershire sauce
salt and ground pepper

There’s no real method , brown the meat first then just throw it all in the pot, add some water to cover it then bubble the crap out of it for about 2-3 hours. Stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn’t stick. Serve with crusty bread or not if you’re eating paleo.
