Everyone Wants a Piece of Me!

Working out itineraries are hard! We’re headed home in the first week of August for the month and everyone wants a piece of us.
Well duh! We are pretty awesome but it’s never long enough and someone is always disappointed. But We have to do what works for us, right?

The kids want farm, they want to run and dig holes and light fires, inside and out and climb fences and trees, drive cars, stay outside all day and do crazy stuff with their cousins and Uncle. That’s always their request. “Can we have most of our time on the farm?” Well sure, but then we get to the beach and they’re upset that we didn’t have enough time there to see our friends there, this is where they were born and remember living. *facepalm*

There’s honestly never enough time but they really love doing it all. It’s a fine balance, then there’s me, I have friends in Sydney and they have grown since I’ve started writing, cyber friends are real too and the prospect of an ‘IRL’ meeting is exciting.

And of course there’s Grandma and Auntie and cousins on the other side of the country too, we went one time but it’s so expensive and so far, (always try to avoid flying from Perth to NYC in one go) it’s always cheaper for them to meet us somewhere and have a mini holiday with us. And that’s what we usually do but we had fun in Perth the time we did go and there was another farm to explore. We also have friends who would love to see us. It’s tough, but hey I’m complaining about something that people never get to do in their whole lives! I’m not really complaining, we’re very grateful for the ability to afford such a trip. Priorities.

The kids are very excited so I have to remember that it’s a great privilege to be able to go home and see everyone we can, next time hopefully we’ll catch others. We’re just little old us and we can only do so much and this is our bi-annual fix so we have to make it work for US.

So if you’re in Sydney, near the farm, or on the Gold Coast then we’re around for August, if you’re elsewhere, bummer, maybe next time. We also do airport meet and greets 🙂

If you’re in NYC, My Lord Dr King is staying behind and you know the terrace will be rocking extra hard!

  1. Have an awesome time and do what you can! Looking forward to pics of a beautiful place! By the way…did you say Dr. King is staying behind? I was just about to head down to NYC to look for a dog walking job.
I need a dog that licks himself a lot…I like clean pups……and one that doesn’t have much hair, kind of like a shaved look……..I have allergies………and a dog that might have access to a terrace….you know, in case of a meteor shower or something that I might want to see while I’m there…..any suggestions?
