The Big Egg Hunt in NY

Yesterday when we were out we found all these easter egg statues down in Battery Park. They were pretty cool but then we noticed they had a QR code.  After scanning it, the King discovered there is an easter egg hunt all over New York called The Big Egg Hunt New York.

There’s an app with a map of all the eggs and in that app it tells you the artist and the inspiration for each statue.

But even better, every egg you crack you go into the draw for fabulous prizes, up to 5 entries a day!

The app looks like this:

So our Sunday Brunch turned into a mini scavenger hunt around the City. We got 27 of the more than 260 to find.

It was fun!

The egg hunt goes until the end of April and you can post on twitter, facebook and instagram with the hashtag #thebigegghuntny. If you’re in the city this April, looking for something different to do, why not try this!

Here are some of the ones we found.

There’s also a Where’s Waldo one which travels throughout the burroughs each day to a different location. Yesterday he was on Brighton beach, today the clue is he’s off Manhattan heading to another island, where he’s taking a ride to amuse himself… Maybe on the Staten Island Ferry?
